So I have been testing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for about a month now. I decided to give it a go after hearing so many people rave about it. I grabbed it off their website for $39.99, and of course as with just about all anti-virus software that is the yearly renewal fee as well. Which is a reasonable price for anti-virus software. The set up and installation were straight forward and simple. I installed Kaspersky on a Dell Optiplex running Windows XP Pro, and the same system with Windows 7 home premium.

We'll start with the 2nd most important factor when choosing an anti-virus, does it slow your system down? Prior to the test these system had Avast Free Anti-Virus on them. Ask anyone and they will tell you that Avast is very easy on the system resources and I have to say I noticed no difference after installing Kaspersky. It ran nice and quiet in the background and aside from the icon I didn't know it was there.

I am extremely impressed with it so far. Over the last 4 weeks I have collected and attempted to infect the system with Viruses, spyware, malware, scareware and it has held the line. Catching every single threat I threw at it.

Overall, I would say Kaspersky 2012 is a fine product and live up well to the hype around it as of late.
